Yay- I LOVE this beer. I had my first taste of this up in Kennebunk Maine at Federal Jacks where they brew all the shipyard beers. It was heaven. I love having pumpkin everything during the fall, especially pumpkin coffee. Now I enjoy this yummy beer! I actually just went and bought another case of it because I bum out when they stop caring it in the store.

Yeah, as I mentioned, it's not for everyone - you may like the Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin, if you can find it, but then again, you may just fall into the "I like pumpkin beer, not pumpkin *pie* beer" category. To each their own!

oooh, different tastes in beers, by far.

I'm a big fan of pumpkin ales, and really enjoy the post road pumpkin ale from brooklyn brewery, and I'm pretty sure i've had dogfish head's Punkin and enjoyed it.

But it's a different story for shipyard pumpkinhead. I bought it in a bar one night. And then I left 3/4 of the pint sitting on the table and went and bought something different because I hated it.

Maybe it was just a bad pint.... or maybe I drink like an old man and like my beers to have a bit more oomph...

Pumpkinhead is BY FAR my absolute favorite pumpkin beer, EVER. I might even be obsessed with it. I must stock up now because it will soon be gone and replaced with winter ales :(
